Established and launched at Informa’s fashion trade events in 2021, this program’s aim is to elevate, celebrate and create a systematic and reliable standardization of sustainable and socially conscious practices of exhibiting companies showcasing at MAGIC, PROJECT, COTERIE and SOURCING’s fashion trade events.
The primary goals of The Program are to:
● Implement a robust and credible evaluation of exhibiting companies
● Educate and guide the industry on sustainable and social good journey to positively impact people and the environment
These results offer a transparent and defensible approach towards highlighting the positive practices adopted by those entities making a definitive commitment towards improving our people and the planet.
Powered by Hey Social Good (HSG), an independent third-party social impact data company who conducts the program’s evaluation research, verified status is awarded to those companies that meet the minimum Social Good Assessment and has provided documentation based around the UN 17 SDGs framework.
HSG uses data-driven assessment methodologies that are based on machine learning and domain expertise data analytics, to credibly assess and verify a business’ socially responsible practices.
HSG is an independent third-party social impact data company that verifies and ranks companies who have expressed their efforts in sustainable and ethical practices in the fashion industry. HSG’s mission is to enrich people's lives with well researched information and social good alternatives that inspire businesses to make a profit and a positive impact on people and planet. The United Nation's 17 Sustainable Development Goals that represent the blueprint for countries to “promote prosperity while protecting the planet”. They address economic growth, education, health, social protection and job opportunities, as well as factors impacting climate change and the environment.
For The Program, HSG cross checks an exhibiting company’s positive impacts against the UN 17 SDGs, which includes social responsibility, responsible production, ethical practices, and environmental practices, to reflect HSG and Fashion by Informa’s shared commitment to sustainability and to help educate against green washing.
Any organization, business, or company who is working on their sustainability journey can be considered for verified status, as part of the program considers the practices below as a minimum. For transparency, a company must provide documentation supporting their sustainable practices, to meet our minimum sustainability criteria.
● The sustainable footprint of a product and packaging by considering compostability, recyclability, reusability, etc.
● Source goods and products sustainably and responsibly by seeking renewable resources, providing fair labor practices, and more.
● Reduce and/or offset energy use, carbon emissions and water impacts during a company’s manufacturing, production and operations processes.
● Eliminate, reduce, or offset energy or fuel gas used for distribution and/or transportation practices.
● Sustainably manage waste generated by manufacturing, production, and office operations.

"We've exhibited at other sourcing shows before but we wanted to try exhibiting at SOURCING by Informa because it has more of a guaranteed audience. We knew that the sustainability area was moving all the way to the front of the show, and we knew we would have a lot better visibility. We ended up having quite a but of action at our booth."

“SOURCING by Informa is always unique for me, and I've been coming here a very long time. This time I found a lot of social give back opportunities, so that was great for our company since we've been looking to give back. The big push for sustainability is here and you had a lot of options so that made things easier. ”
DOMINISII | CEO | Attending Buyer
“The opportunities in the [sustainability] space is the storytelling...you get to see the humans behind these products, behind the materials, behind everything. If you give knowledge to your sustainability steps and your product in general, you're giving knowledge to your consumer, and that gives your consumer power too on a purchase. ”
